Slava Zvyagintsev

My name is Vyacheslav or Slava for short. I’m 32 and I was born in Siberia (in Altai), but was raised in the Volga region. I am a livestock breeder by profession – feeding and caring for farm animals – or simply speaking just a shepherd. I worked with sheep mostly, which helps me to understand many of Biblical images related to my profession. From spring of 1999 my life has been connected to Saint Petersburg and to the Lord. For a year and a half I led a small church in the southern Pskov region. During the first year of my study at the Institute I was able to deal with many questions related to theology. “Many interpretations of one passage of Scripture! Whom do I believe?” Now my thoughts are becoming ordered. This year the task is to get a clear and detailed vision of applying this knowledge in everyday life. More than anything else I desire to grow in my love to the Lord and to teach others to love Him. History and geography, as well as sports, especially soccer, are among my hobbies. I am single. Among my closest relatives are my mom (Galina, Institute’s accountant and cook) and my younger brother Alexander who is studying to be a driver. Both of them live with my sister Natalia in Lomonosov, a suburb of Saint Petersburg. Natasha is married to Dima and has a 10 year old daughter and a 3 year old son. My father Vladimir lives in Volgograd region with his family. Thanks be to the Lord for the 32 years that I already had. Amen.
