I was born in August of 1971 in a small town in the Rostov region, which is in the south of Russia. It is Cossack territory and my family is a Cossack family with its own rules and foundations. My great-grandmother was a true believer in God. From my very childhood I witnessed her praying before meals, before she went to bed and in other cases also. Very often I would stay with my her. The first thing that she helped me to memorize was the Lord’s Prayer. In secret, without my parents knowing about it, she baptized me in an Orthodox Church when I was around 9 years old. I grew up in the country where God was denied, so I forgot many of the things I was taught as a child. I finished the school and in 1987 entered the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Rostov Pedagogical Institute. In 1992 I finished nursing courses and at different times I worked as a nurse in several departments of the military hospital and in the orphanage. Unfortunately, because of some health issues I had to quit this job. In 1995 I graduated from the Institute and began working as a secretary in a large company. Even though my soul was lacking something, I had no place for God in my life. That was a dark period of my life. Then at the end of November of 1996 I accidentally visited the Rostov Church choir rehearsal. After that event my life changed. I began coming to the lessons and assemblies regularly and that led to my repentance and baptism in January of 1997. I can say that only then was I truly born to live. I came to God and He gave me not only a new life but also a husband, Igor Egirev, who was a minister in the church of Christ to which I came. Since 1997 I became an active member of Rostov church: I was helping with the children classes at first and then was myself a Sunday Bible school teacher, since 1999 I worked as a secretary of the church, took part in organizing Christian conferences. In 2002 God blessed our family with a son, Ilya.
