The Institute of Theology and Christian Ministry was founded in 2004 by American and Russian Christians. ITCM is a part of the American and Russian Restoration movement. The founders, board members, administration, professors and teachers are members of the churches of Christ.      MISSION: To prepare servants of the Gospel of Christ for the local churches. Becoming a mature and faithful Christian means among other things studying and knowing the Bible and theology, understanding the lessons of Christian history and learning to think and reflect as a Christian. To be a fruitful Christian who uses their gifts one must be equipped in practical ministry skills. The churches of Christ in Russia are moving toward financial independence and that means that her ministers and members must be able to combine secular work and ministry. EDUCATIONAL GOAL: Give disciplined instruction in scripture, Christian thinking and the history of God's people combined with structured internships in church ministry and evangelism of the world needing Christ.


As you know, the Institute of Theology and Christian Ministry began classes in January 2005. At the time we were recruiting students for Jan. '05. ITCM had plans and goals but no track record or previous experience on which applicants could base a decision. Nevertheless 12 brothers and sisters from across Russia decided to come to St. Petersburg to study. We would like you to meet our 'Abrahams and Sarahs' - our first 12 students, 11 of which became our first graduates, who like Abraham and Sarah went to 'a country they did not know' (Genesis 12:1, Hebrews 11:9) with only a desire to learn, faith and obedience to God's call to guide them.      Our mission is not simply words on a page, it is people. This mission is accomplished through Christians, taught and equipped for God's good works, growing in grace and experience by application of knowledge, who will plant new churches and mature them to the glory of God.
